How Do I?
Import those student numbers into my Learning System site?
Only fully
registered students will have a student number in the new student
number column that will be created by the import.
Save the file attachment
sent to you by the Learning System Team to your H: drive or your C: drive WITHOUT
OPENING IT FIRST. If you open the student number import file with
EXCEL, all of the student numbers will lose their front-padding
zero. You can look at it with Excel to make sure that it is what
you want, but do not SAVE it from within Microsoft Excel.
To import, go to 'teach', 'gradebook' then 'import
from spreadsheet'. Browse for the file you just saved (it
will be labelled with the course code and the current date).
Choose 'comma' as the separator, and leave the language setting at
UTF-8:
Once you've imported the
student numbers, you'll find them ONLY under the 'members' or the 'view all'
tabs in the gradebook because by default the column will not be
deemed to be a "grade-related" column. You can make the student
number column appear on the
'grades' tab by choosing 'gradebook options', 'column settings' and
setting the 'grades column?' to 'yes' for the new student number column.
