Individual Conferences
Booked Appointments
Appointments are available Tuesday through Thursday. Our qualified instructors (who have Master's degrees in a wide variety of disciplines) will meet with you for a 45-minute consultation to discuss any aspect of your academic work:
- Essay writing - bring in a draft of a work in progress and we will provide detailed commentary on the first few pages and of the general organization of your essay, teaching you how to become an independent editor of your own work and indicating your strengths and weaknesses;
- Essay topics - bring in your essay topics and we will discuss narrowing the topic, finding a thesis, and establishing a direction for research or discussion;
- Lab writing – bring in your work-in-progress and we will discuss strategies for organization, research and analysis, and independent editing;
- Time management and study skills;
- Critical reading and thinking;
- Seminar presentations;
- Exam and test preparation.
You may schedule up to ten appointments (including drop-in sessions) each term; this allows an instructor to work closely with you on an ongoing basis. Call us to book an appointment.
