CONFERENCE TRIP TO SACRED PETROGLYPHS SITE
Thursday afternoon, November 2, 2006
There are numerous rock carvings depicting sacred teachings of the Anishnaabe people. The rock face has been enclosed in a building structure to protect the carvings.
Elder Doug Williams from nearby Curve Lake First Nation (Mississaugas of Curve Lake) has been involved for many years in the protection and interpretation of the site. Doug will be the guide for this special conference tour. Special permission has been obtained to enter this site as the park will be closed for the season.
