Research Assistant The Affordable Housing Research Project (Peterborough Site)
Job Type: Part-time (September, 2008 to April, 2009)

Salary: $15 - $20 per hour depending on experience
The Applied Social Welfare Research and Evaluation Group, York University is looking for an upper year undergraduate/graduate student to join our team as a Research Assistant on our Affordable Housing Research Project. The successful individual will work closely with the Manager Housing Division, City of Peterborough in recruiting and interviewing tenants. The employer is York University, and is not the City of Peterborough.
Your duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Review research instruments and provide input on changes required to make the instruments user-friendly.
Follow established criteria to recruit participants for the longitudinal survey interviews
Conduct longitudinal survey interviews and if necessary, in-depth interviews with a subsection of participants
Compile, organize and summarize interview results, and maintain confidentiality of all research records
Participate in tracking participants between interviews
Participate in analysis interviews
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
o Candidates with research and organizational skills
o Proficiency in MS Word.
