The Committee on Educational Development (COED), formerly called the Teaching Effectiveness Committee, was established in 1990 as a three year experiment to design and implement a Teaching Effectiveness Program at Trent. Since its inception, COED has endeavored to encourage discussion and thought about teaching in various ways. It mounts a program of instructional development workshops and seminars, it provides a collection of resource material on teaching and learning, it purchases subscriptions to The Teaching Professor for departments and programs, it publishes a newsletter, and it supports faculty interested in pursuing projects related to enhanced teaching effectiveness or wishing to attend conferences on teaching and learning.

NOTE: The responsibilities of COED are now undertaken by the Interactive Learning Centre. Please vist the ILC web site at http://www.trentu.ca/ilc
