The calculations as used in the software are now displayed. This was previously a text file and contained some errors.
The concept of "hopping" has been added for emission to air.
Activation energies for the half-lives of Type 1 chemicals have been added to allow for adjustments to the reaction rate constants to reflect environment temperature.
Enthalpy for Kow and Kaw for Type 1 chemicals have been added to allow for adjustments to the partition coefficients to reflect environment temperature.
A vegetation compartment has now been added to the program. As a result, necessary inputs have been added to the Chemical and Environment Properties forms, and relevant calculations and outputs have been included. All output forms have been updated to reflect this addition
Terminology has been updated to be consistent with recent work.
The aerosol deposition velocity parameter is now entered as the dry deposition velocity and a scavenging ratio rather than as a combined wet and dry velocity.
Suspended sediment is now more correctly referred to as suspended particles and "pure air" is now referred to as air vapour. Molecular mass is now more correctly referred to as molar mass.
Help
Information in the Help files for the Environmental Properties form has been corrected.
Database
- Wind and water velocities are now saved correctly to the database.
- The chemical half-lives are now correctly saved to the database.
Model Input
Error checking has been improved.
An additional comments box has now been added to the Simulation ID window.
User can create environments without water to simulate the transport of chemicals in such regions.
It is now possible to add new Type 2 and 3 chemicals using the "New Chemical" button.
The typographical error in the "note" about the air and water densities was corrected.
Model Output
Both the Chemical name and the Environment name are included with all results.
Charts of selected results are available for display or printing.
All model output, whether viewed on screen, printed, or saved to a file, are identical except that values in the file are not formatted. The absence of formatting allows the user to see the whole number calculated by the model without any rounding effects.
A date and time stamping option was added to the printed output and the save to file.
All input values are italicized in the printed output to facilitate future simulation duplication.
The Save-to-File option now saves all data to a comma separated value file which is viewable by most commercial spreadsheet software but is not software-specific.
The Save Diagram option was removed. It did not work consistently. The diagram can be captured using the "Print Screen" button on the keyboard, and pasted into a file to be saved. A note was added to the Help file for the Diagram to indicate this.
A listing of environment properties has been added to the Save-to-File output.
An over-sight in the numerical formatting routine for display and print output was corrected.
A label error in display of Intermedia Transport was corrected. "Water to soil" is now "Soil to air".
The concentration in soil pore air was displayed incorrectly as concentration in sediment solids. This has been corrected.
Unit conversions for the concentration in soil and sediment displayed on the Diagram have been corrected.
The aerosol-water partition coefficient is no longer printed for Type 1 where it is unnecessary and illogical.
The aerosol-air partition coefficient is no longer displayed for Type 2 chemicals where it is not applicable.
The units listed for fugacity in the tables of printed results have been corrected.
On the Results display, the total value for the percent of total loss column on the reaction tab, has now been included.
Incorrect values for half-times for water to air and soil to air displayed for Type 2 chemicals have been corrected.
Overall D values are now included.
The units of fugacity for Type 1 and 3 chemicals were corrected in the Save-to-File output.
The save-to-file output was reporting the sediment D value for reaction as that of soil. This has been corrected.
