STP Software Update

Version 2.11 - March 2006

Since the Version 2.10 (August 2004) release:

  • An error that prevented new Treatment Systems from being entered into the model has now been corrected.
  • A schematic has been added to the Help for the Treatment System Window to assist users in understanding the required input information for each tank or lagoon.

Since the Version 1.50 (October 2001) release:

    Layout
  • The layout of information is consistent between model windows, and with other models developed at the Canadian Environmental Modelling Centre.
  • Terminology has been updated to be consistent with recent work.
    Help
  • Help files have been improved and expanded.
    Model Input
  • Degradation of the chemical can be entered either as half-lives or using the Ready test results.
  • Treatment now includes the possibility of lagoons.
  • The treatment plant is now specified as a series of up to 3 tanks or lagoons. The properties of each tank or lagoon must be entered. The system included in previous version of the model is included in the database as “Original System” and may not be changed by the user.
  • The distinction between plant design and operating conditions has been removed and a single database is used for the treatment plant.
  • Error checking has been improved.
    Calculations
  • Some of the calculations were changed to allow the increased flexibility of tank type and specifications.
  • For tanks with aeration, surface volatilization is now included in addition to the volatilization due to the bubbling.
    Model Output
  • The layout of Results has been changed to be more intuitive and more complete.
  • The four fates for the system and for each tank individually are given as pie charts. To chart other results, or to produce more visually appealing charts, the output should be saved to a file and charted using spreadsheet software.
